I have owned three Kirby vacuums over the years. A Heritage II, G5, and currently, an Ultimate G Diamond Edition. All three of these machines have been nothing short of amazing and all three still work fantastically. I have never used a more versatile machine and my home has never been cleaner! If you are on the fence about owning a Kirby system, just get one. The versatility and reliability is unmatched.
Kirby vacuums have value and purpose. For the right person.
These vacuums are well built, have multiple functions that make them a power house cleaning tool.
The door to door sales folks use tactics that are questionable. High pressure, buy now. They will claim a lifetime warranty. but listen close, it is a 3 year limited warranty. Shipping and rebuilds are not free. If you want to pay for shipping and a rebuild for the life of your vacuum? Maybe, this is for you.
Local distributors that sell Kirby products are not always responsive to their consumer’s complaints/problems.
I became frustrated with my local distributor and contacted the corporate offices. All is now well.Would I recommend Kirby? Yes and no.
I have a Kirby G2 that was left behind when I purchased a house. I started using it just to see how it worked and I loved the suction both on carpets and bare floors. The machines seem to last forever. It is a little heavy but that’s not a concern of mine (it is a solid machine so that’s to be expected). The one complaint I would have is why Kirby never figured out how to integrate the hose into the unit instead of having to manually remove the brush roll to connect it. Sometimes you just need to get into that one corner quickly or along a piece of furniture and that makes it not convenient at all to use.
“I’m incredibly disappointed with my Kirby vacuum purchase. The sales experience was misleading from the start. I was explicitly told that this vacuum could only be purchased through door-to-door salesmen, which led me to believe I was getting an exclusive deal. However, I later discovered that the same model is readily available online for significantly less—hundreds of dollars cheaper.
What’s worse, the return policy was not clearly communicated. I was under the impression that I had more than just three days to return the vacuum. When I contacted the salesman on the third day expressing my desire to return it and close the loan, he insisted on demonstrating its features instead of addressing my concerns. This felt like a stall tactic.
Now, I’m stuck with a $3000 vacuum that I don’t want, with no support from Kirby customer service or the third-party distributors. The loan company can’t assist until Kirby accepts the return, which they refuse to do. At this point, I’m desperate to get this loan closed.I feel completely abandoned and misled. This has been a frustrating and costly mistake.
The Kirby Vacuum Cleaner provides excellent versatility for cleaning tasks, from removing dead skin from your mattress to extracting sand embedded in carpets. It is also durable and will last much longer than an average vacuum. If you take advantage of the free carpet cleaning for a room in your home, be prepared for it to take between 1 and 3.5 hours, depending on how interested you are in the various attachments it offers. Also, vacuum the area beforehand—I learned the hard way not to skip this step. Furthermore, the Kirby vacuum will help any renter who needs to have their carpets cleaned before moving out.
